How Time Flies

Last year, I started a tradition of giving Photo Calendars to some of the members in Miss Priss's Fan Club (aka her grandparents). I've already been asked three times "You're going to do a calendar again, right?"!! So, I started working on it this week and it brought back such sweet memories of this past year!

Miss Priss has changed SOOOO much, she started 2008 as a little baby and now she's finishing the year as a full fledged toddler! As much as I love her funny little 17 month personality, looking back at the pictures makes me miss her being so small. One thing is for sure, Mommy is NOT ready for her little girl to grow up!

It's Official!

Yeah! It's official! We get to start house shopping! Todd and I have decided that it's time for us to buy a new house here in OKC. I know I know.... in this freaking market?
We're planning on taking things slow.... and just start looking around. We need to figure out where in the metro we want to go, and try to test the waters to see if our house will sell well or not. We're not in a big hurry, but of course with life... once you decide on something you're eager to do it!
So that's our big news!!!

Sight to See

Shame on you More Wine Please and Booder Bean. I mean seriously, you are in BIG TROUBLE. I read daily about your relaxing nightly glasses of wine. How it's the perfect ending to the day.
Well, I don't like wine.... I like Margaritas. And since I had some left over from the weekend, I helped myself to a glass (a tall glass) at 5:30 this evening. Well it's 6:40 and the room is spinning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tonight's my "Work Night", since H.O.T.Y. is going to be gone for the next few nights on a business trip.... I'm worried I'm going to be designing "Happy Christmas" and "Merry Holidays!" How am I supposed to explain that to my clients??

Best Dressed Sooners

My very talented friend Christa, the designer of Amazing Gracie, made Miss Priss and I super cute matching OU outfits! We found the pink OU fabric online, and then she added the zebra to spice it up a little! There's a boutique here in the metro that might possibly start carrying the Amazing Gracie line.... so keep you fingers crossed that this is one they sell!

Puppy Love

Our church hosted a "Pet Blessing" this past weekend, and as the canine-loving family we are, we took the Big Beagle to get blessed! I must admit that when I dressed Molly that morning, I was happy to find the PERFECT shirt for her to wear!

Piggy Bank Made by Mommy: PRICELESS

I've been wanting to get Miss Priss a piggy bank for Christmas. I saw a cute princess one at Target($20) and an even more adorable one at Tiny Tulips Boutique ($50). Then this weekend at my friends house, she showed me the one she got her daughter recently. It was FREAKING AMAZING! Then she told me where she got it.... a cute little store called Room to Dream. The store is fantastic, but the cheapest thing in there is probably $60.00 (for socks no less).

So there I was, admiring the piggy bank, knowing that it was EXACTLY what I'd been wanting for Miss Priss, but also knowing that I didn't want to spend the $100 to buy one.

So I decided to make one...

It isn't quite done yet, I still need to find a tiara for it. But I couldn't wait.... it turned out so perfect and I wanted you all to see it!

Total price = $13.00!!!

God Bless the Single Moms

I hereby bow down to all those moms out there that do it on their own. Whatever the circumstance, whether it be by choice, or by their husband being in the military, or working 80 hours, or traveling during the week.... the women who do it all are AMAZING!

And I am not one of them.... trust me.

H.O.T.Y. has been gone a total of 44 hours and I'm about to have a total break down. Seriously. Last night I called my mom in tears. Miss Priss was NOT on her best behavior (or close to it), then the damn hail storm kept her up for another two hours after bed time. Then once the storm passed, she decided she wanted up out of bed and started crying. Hoping she'd give up and lay back down, I let her cry..... for a full FOUR MINUTES. By that time she was crying so hard she starting gagging. I went to get her and within seconds of picking her up, she threw up ALL OVER ME. We had hot dogs for dinner... need I say more? She stayed up well past midnight, and finally FINALLY went to bed with a heavy dose of warm milk and rocking.

After that, I went to bed myself and forgoed the several hours I had planned to spend working on the computer. (which means that tonight will be extra long).

The Good News??? My mom and dad are coming tonight to stay with me the rest of the time H.O.T.Y. is gone. I feel like such a cheat, not being able to handle one week alone.... but I'm desperate for some help and to get some work done!

So back to my point........ Single Moms are AMAZING! I bow down to anyone out there that does it all! You have a strength that I wish I could have! And H.O.T.Y. if you are reading this..... COME BACK HOME!

NEWSFLASH

In the chaos of today's election.... I think Channel 4 missed a very news-worthy announcement!

MISS PRISS GOT A HAIR CUT!

And not just a little trim... we chopped it! H.O.T.Y. has been bugging me for months to cut it short into a little bob, and today (after going to vote of course) I decided that today was the day to do it!

So here she is ladies and gentlemen....

Halloween Fun

Miss Priss's second Halloween was so much fun! Since we don't have a very good neighborhood to Trick or Treat in, our friends invited us to join them! It took a while for her to warm up to the whole idea of accepting candy from stangers.... she wouldn't put her hand in a bowl of candy until the very last house. But of course, as soon as we got back to our friend's house, she raided THEIR bowl of candy!
