We're Outta Here!
I have to admit, I'm mostly looking forward to getting away from this computer.... I spend so much time on here and it'll be nice to take a break from it! Plus hanging out with friends and family can't be beat!
So hopefully I'll have a chance to blog while I'm away... but if not, take care y'all... and I'll talk to you when I get back!

Are you freaking kidding me?
I got this in my email today.... it is ridiculous!! Seriously, the people who come up with these scams should be ashamed of themselves!
Dearest...
Hi, My name is Josephine Justin Yak, 23years old originated from Sudan. I decide to contact you after my prayers, I really want to have a good relationship with you. My father Dr. Justin Yak was the former Minister for SPLA Affairs and Special Adviser to President Salva Kiir of South Sudan for Decentralization. My father Dr. Justin Yak and my mother including other top Military officers and top government officials had been on board when the plane crashed on Friday May 02, 2008.
You can read more about the crash through the below site:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7380412fraudfraudfraud.stm
After the burial of my father, my uncle conspired and sold my father's properties to a Chinease Expatriate and live nothing for me. On a faithful morning, I opened my father's briefcase and found out the documents which he have deposited huge amount of money in one bank in Burkina Faso with my name as the next of kin. I traveled to Burkina Faso to withdraw the money so that I can start a better life and take care of myself. On my arrival, the Branch manager of the Bank whom I met in person told me that my father's instruction to the bank was the money be release to me only when I am married or present a trustee who will help me and invest the money overseas.
I have chosen to contact you after my prayers and I believe that you will not betray my trust. But rather take me as your own sister. Though you may wonder why I am so soon revealing myself to you without knowing you, well, I will say that my mind convinced me that you are the true person to help me. More so, I will like to disclose much to you if you can help me to relocate to your country because my uncle have threaten to assassinate me. The amount is $5.6 Million and I have confirmed from the bank in Burkina Faso. You will also help me to place the money in a more profitable business venture in your Country.
However, you will help by recommending a nice University in your country so that I can complete my studies. It is my intention to compensate you with 10% of the total money for your services and the balance shall be my capital in your establishment. As soon as I receive your interest in helping me, I will put things into action immediately. In the light of the above, I shall appreciate an urgent message indicating your ability and willingness to handle this transaction sincerely. Please do keep this only to your self. I beg you not to disclose it till i come over because I am affraid of my wicked uncle who has threatened to kill me.
You can contact me direct to my e-mail box (jhosephine_justinyak@fraud.com)
Sincerely yours,
Miss Josephine Justink Yak

A Grand Exit
As any parent of a toddler would be, I was a litter nervous about how Miss Priss would do for the hour-long ceremony. For the most part, she really did quite well... I had stuffed my purse full with toys, goldfish, doodle pads, and candy, so it kept her pretty busy.
However, as luck would have it, just as the couple started their final vows, my purse of supplies had run empty... so I made a quick decision and grabbed Miss Priss to head toward the back door. We'd sat strategically on the end, so we could make an easy exit.... or so I thought.
We were about three feet down the aisle, and just as I heard the bride say "for better or for worse".... Miss Priss decided to chime in herself. She loudly yelled "Bye Bye!" "Bye Bye Everybody!" and waved and waved and waved to everyone as we walked the final way down the aisle. In that huge cathedral, her little voice rang all the way through the rafters.
Can you take a wild guess as to who was getting the main attention at that point?
So I ask any of my friends who would ever consider her for a flower girl.... I beg you to wait a few years. I can assure you that she'll look quite adorable in whatever dress you want her to wear, but I certianly can't guarantee that she won't steal your spotlight!

Playroom
We converted our extra bedroom into a full on play center - with a dress up corner, a "create" space, a TV, a play kitchen, and tons and tons of shelves full of toys! We also added a small computer armoire for myself, so that I can multi-task.... play with my little girl AND get some work done!
We spend a lot of time in this room and I just love how bright and cheerful it is. Some of the walls are still bare, but I plan to fill them with lots of pictures that I know Miss Priss will eventually create! Shamefully, the TV gets the most amount of attention... with all of her children's movies... but she also loves to color, to play with the puzzles and her little kitchen!

Shopping Makes Me Happy
This isn't the actual dress - I got mine in dark purple... but I thought I'd share it with you anyhow! What do you think? (I don't exactly look like the model in it, but oh well!)

Caution: M Rated
Seriously, who of you out there has read Wide Awake? If you haven't, you need to. But be sure to reserve your reading time for early mornings or mid-afternoons.... because if you read late at night like me... it might make your dreams super steamy.
And because my mom reads this, I'll leave that last sentence alone... and move onto the top five reasons you need to read this fabulous "M" rated fanfiction.
(1) If you fell head over heels with Edward in the Twilight books, be ready to swoon over the Edward in Wide Awake.
(2) If you love trashy romance novels (which I have just happen to have a closet full of them)... this is right up your alley. The sex scenes in this isn't even comparable to the 50 cent paper backs you get at the grocery store.
(3) My friend Shannon recommended it to me, and she has the best taste in alcohol, clothing and shoes.... so I knew I could count on her for a good book rec.
(4) If you need something to obsess over now that Dancing With the Stars is almost over, this is THE THING FOR YOU.
...and last but not least....
(5) the author isn't even done with the whole story, so you get to feel included in the finishing piece. As she posts each new chapter, you seriously will want to turn on Barney/Elmo/HannahMontana for the kids so you can have an hour to soak it all in.
Alright... what are you waiting for? Go read!!!!!!

Dear Mom,
Thank you for giving me a little brother. I might not have always felt very gracious growing up, but I now know that life wouldn't have been as fun without him. Who else could I dress up in a tutu? Thank you for making family first. I'm grateful you placed such importance on family vacations, Sunday night dinners, and family reunions.... because those are the values I hope to instil in Miss Priss.
Thank you for surviving my teenage years. I actually don't think I could have survived myself, and I know that I'll be getting paid back in about 11-12 years. Thank you for welcoming me back with open arms once I became human again... around age 17. You never looked back and you never held it against me (thankfully!)
Thank you for supporting me in all of my life's adventures; dance conventions, piano recitals, high school proms, cheerleading, sorority, living on my own in college, graduations, moving to Oklahoma, getting married, buying a house, having a baby...
Thank you for being such a wonderful Grammie. Miss Priss loves you so much and is always so happy to be around you!
Thank you for being you. You are beautiful inside and out, and I treasure you more than you know.
Happy Mother's Day!
I love you,
Pumpkin

Tornado Tube
Below are pictures of H.O.T.Y. and Miss Priss in the "Tornado Tube". In the top right corner of each picture, you can see the speed of the wind being blown in the tube.
This isn't so bad....
This is actually kind of fun...
Oh wow, now that's windy....
Alright, get me out of here!

98% Boy
I was on the fence for what I was predicting, one side of me wanted her to have a girl, because we'd be able to enjoy all the girl things together, yet another side of me wanted her to have a boy, because she has an absolutely fabulous, goofy, successful, sweetheart husband and I think the world would be better to have another one like him!
Unfortunately, the little one wasn't in a cooperative mood, so they asked Emily to do all sorts of things for him/her to show its "parts". Finally the nurse announced that she was 98% sure it was a boy, yet the umbillical cord was between his/her legs, and she couldn't quite tell!
Now as you can imagine, Emily is super excited for her 98% boy, yet still on the fence to wrap her whole heart around the little guy if the nurse was wrong!! She luckily gets to go back in on Monday to double-check. Hopefully he/she will cooperate better for her!
Either way, I'm 100% happy... the baby is healthy and Emily and her hubby are going to be amazing parents, and I know I'll make an awesome aunt! :)
