...to become too pregnant, too soon? I mean, seriously, I went from peeing on a stick and seeing a plus sign, to TOTAL EXHAUSTION, TOTAL BRAIN FOG, TOTAL 24/7 NAUSEA. Don't you think that's a little ridiculous? Now don't get me wrong, I'm super excited about baby #2, but with each run to the bathroom, my excitement is fading... and frankly, quite quickly.
To me, pregnancy is pregnancy, and although with Miss Priss I had a decent nine months, it wasn't exactly something I was REALLY looking forward to doing again. (okay, honest truth, I was ready to skip it and adopt, but H.O.T.Y. wouldn't let me) I just don't do the "glowy mom" thing... really I don't! Feeling sick/tired for consecutive days usually leads me into some type of depression... I just don't like feeling "down" for very long. I remember at week 11 of Miss Priss's pregnancy, I went out and bought the book "Quarter Life Crisis" because I seriously thought I was having a crisis with how crappy I felt about life. Little did I know that two weeks later I'd be out of that first-trimester, on a trip to Jamaica with H.O.T.Y. and life wouldn't look so "Crisis-Like" anymore! (and I never did finish reading that book)
So here I am again, in week 7, with little to no motivation... and yet this time with a 2.5 year old to entertain!! All I can say is this... praise the Lord for Disney Movies! Miss Priss and I have spent quality time on the couch the last couple of weeks, and I am happy to say I've got most of Monsters, Inc memorized! I'm almost a little thankful to Mother Nature for all the crappy weather we've had, just so I don't feel any more guilty for laying around being lazy with Miss Priss. I know that once the sun comes out (and stays out!) I will just have to find that extra reserve of energy (from where?!!) and take Miss Priss outside to play!
A big THANK YOU to all for your sweet congratulatory comments, emails, phone calls and letters. Your excitement KEEPS me excited between nauseous spells! And I will do my very best to not spend the next eight months moaning and groaning to you. So sit back, relax and enjoy the show... because Miss Priss and Me will soon be getting a new sidekick!
