Oh How Pretty!

It's surprising how early little girls become "girlie". Take Miss Priss for instance; she loves to wear a bow in her hair 24/7, is fond of all things PINK, and has recently become obsessed with my makeup drawer. Actually to be honest, it's been several months now that I've been finding her sneaking stuff out of it.
When we moved into the new house, I had to put a drawer-lock on it, in hopes of preventing a full-on makeup raid. Little did I know that her skinny arm slips in quite easily and still can pull out whatever her heart desires.
So I say all this to you... and yet I still found myself in utter shock when I discovered her latest beauty ransack.

And what does she say to me when I catch her red(beige)-handed?

"Look Mommy! Me SOOOOO Pretty!"

*Sidenote* The concealer she was applying was a long-lasting kind, and I can now vouch that it is indeed "long-lasting". It took two baths and lots of scrubbing to get it all off!

Foto Faces Friday - Banged Up Baby

We've had a rough week around here.... Miss Priss apparently ran into something at a birthday party last weekend and had a bad fall on Monday at the gym's Kids Club. Poor little thing spent the week with a nasty cut on her head, part of a black eye and a swollen, bruised nose with rug-burns on the tip!

Maybe I should invest in some sort of padded helmet for her?

It's Potty Time!

Miss Priss is officially starting her Potty Training today! I'm armed with supplies - Aerial Panties, Aerial Stickers, Potty Chair, Potty Chart and a whole lot of Resolve Carpet Cleaner.

We've dabbled with the Potty Chair for the past several months, but haven't really gone 100%... so last night when we were over at our neighbors and she told me she was starting full force with her little girl, I decided to jump on the bandwagon! Her little girl is two months younger than Miss Priss, so I say it's better late than never! My strategy as of today is to put her in panties when we are at home, set the timer for every 30 minutes to take her to the potty, give her stickers when she "goes" and let her get something BIG (toy, candy, etc) after 10 times.
However, if you have any Potty Training advice, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO GIVE IT! I have a feeling I'll need all the help I can get!

Baby Crazies

I have a confession…. I’m starting to get Baby Crazies again. That might come to a surprise to many of you because (A) I’ve declared many many times that Miss Priss is going to be an only child, (B) I’ve recently been blogging about the Terrible Twos, and/or (C) I have no interest in being pregnant again… ever!

Yet, here I am…. thinking all things baby.

It might be because I ran across this picture the other day….


Or because I watched this video last week…


Or maybe even because I discovered this beautiful nursery décor recently…

As I watch Miss Priss grow into a little girl right before my eyes, I find myself missing those sweet innocent days of toothless grins, warm milk bottles and lullabies in the rocking chair. And as I have more and more friends calling to tell me their exciting news (I currently have 16 friends pregnant and 6 with newborns) I wonder if I might be able to endure another nine long months.

So are these Baby Crazies enough to push me over the edge and have another??
We shall see!

Disney On Ice

Last Friday, we took Miss Priss to see Disney On Ice. We stood in line for 1/2 hour, so we could go in "early" to see the princesses. Luckily we got right in front, and Miss Priss just sat there in awe as Belle and Cinderella came out and waved to her!


As the princesses waved and waved to the crowd, Miss Priss just kept waving back!


When we first saw the ice-rink, she was super excited to see the BIG AERIAL! :)

The show was amazing, and not suprisingly, Aerial was her favorite part!

To top the night off, Miss Priss LOVED the confetti that fell from the ceiling at the end of the show!

Princess Bed

Last month Grandma and Pops bought Miss Priss her "Big Girl" bed! We were so happy to get it up this past weekend... and even more happy to let Miss Priss see it!

All tucked in for the night...

Apparently the excitement of the bed proved to be a little much for Miss Priss last night. We had her all tucked in at 9 pm... and she proceeded to stay up until 11 pm! She played with her new sheets and covers, she sang songs, she threw her new pillow on the floor (10 times), and finally I went back in at 11 to get her to settle down. This is how our conversation went...

Miss Priss: "Milk?"

Me: "No Milk."

Miss Priss: "Water?"

Me: "No Water."

Miss Priss: "Sunshine?"

Me: "You want mommy to sing Sunshine?"

Miss Priss: "Yes!!"

And although we'd sung it twice before at 9, I sang it once again and she went right to sleep!
Silly little princess!

Such a Smart Girl!

This Baby Animal Book has been one of Miss Priss's favorite books since she was itty bitty. I remember her only being six or seven months old, and she would love as I pointed out all the animals and what sounds each one made.

It seems like over-night Miss Priss has gone from listening and learning, to saying the names and sounds along with me! I was so glad H.O.T.Y. captured this sweet night as Miss Priss went through the book and told Mommy all about the animals and their sounds!

I Want It Wednesday

Much to my own suprise, I've been spending more and more time in the kitchen. Last night while I made spaghetti (my favorite!), I brought in a little stool and had Miss Priss *help* me make the garlic bread. Even though she spent more time eating the butter than actually spreading it on the bread, she did a pretty good job!

To Cut or Not To Cut...

...That Is The Question!!

I'm due for another haircut and color, and I'm struggling with what I want to do with my hair (as always). I've recently grown it out a little, so it's in that weird in-between stage.... which of course makes me hate it most days!

Here are my options:
(A) Grow it out again

or...
(B) Cut it short again into my "Mom Cut"

Anyone care to give me your thoughts on what I should do???

Labor Day Weekend

Last weekend we drove over and spent the holiday with my parents at Table Rock Lake. As always, I took a million pictures, so I thought I'd post all my favorites here!

Papa teaches Miss Priss how to fish... lucikly she did not like the worms! Yuck!

H.O.T.Y. tried and tried and tried but never actually caught a fish the entire weekend, poor guy!

Look at that huge catepillar! We tried to convice Miss Priss it was her new pet, but she wasn't going for it!

Grammie and I bribed Miss Priss into a day of shopping in Eureka Springs... all it cost me was one giant lollipop!

As Miss Priss called him... "Big Jesus!" (then she proceeded to throw a ROYAL tantrum at his feet!)

No swimsuit needed, Miss Priss jumped in the lake fully clothed!

Suprisingly, she didn't even mind wearing the Life Jacket the whole time!

For our last outing, we took Miss Priss to go see the Antique Train's on display. Choo choo!

Priceless Artwork

To celebrate the upcoming Grandparent's Day, I collected a handful of Miss Priss's school artwork and made little stickers that said "Happy Grandparent's Day! Love, Molly" for each one.
This morning I took her to a nearby Nursing Home and let her hand out each "card" to the residents there. As always, Miss Priss entertained them all as she walked around handing out each one and talking to the people there. She told several people her favorite color was Yellow, and that she liked to eat Chicken.
I've always had a soft spot for Nursing Homes and my hope is to pass that on to Molly. I want her to respect all ages and have the passion to find ways to brighten their day.
As many of the lady's today thanked me and told me that my little girl had made their day, I can honestly admit that our little trip this morning made that handful of artwork undeniably priceless!

Back to School

We made it! After a wonderful summer full of vacations, the pool, the park, art classes, trips to the zoo, lots of visitors and a couple (million) rounds of Barney Videos, we are offically back to school!

Miss Priss was so excited this morning as we got ready for her big day. She carried around her little backpack and made sure Mommy packed it "just right". When I dropped her off, she waltzed right into her room like she owned the place and didn't even look back as I said goodbye and blew kisses.

From my last post, I'm sure you know that I was extremely excited about getting back to a one-day-a-week Mother's Day Out.... yet now that she's there, I find myself choked up a little bit. We had such a fun summer together doing so many great things, it makes me a little sad that I now get one less day to enjoy her.

No matter, my TO-DO list is huge today, so I've got to get rolling if I want to be half-way finished before I go back to pick her up!

Terrible Twos

Miss Priss is officially living up to the name "Terrible Twos".

Here's why...
1. When you say "Come Here", she goes running in the opposite direction.
2. When you sit down for dinner, she dumps her entire plate of food on the floor for the dog.
3. You hear "MINE!" no less than 87 times a day.
4. If she disappears into a different room, you can count on her (a) marking something up with a permanent marker (b) dragging everything out of the pantry or (c) taking out all of mommy's jewelry and stringing it across the floor.
5. When she wants something, it's usually "asked" in a WHINE/SCREAM. And done repeatedly until you give it to her.
6. She only asks for the things she knows she can't have (the remote control, mommy's lipstick and paper towels to feed the dog)
7. She's a chatterbox when you have a splitting headache, but won't say a word when you ask her to in public.
8. She has learned to perfect the art of a WAF (Wild Ass Fit).
9. She thinks Time-Out is a super duper fun game.
10. When you ask her if she wants a spanking, she says "Yes!"

... I love her dearly, but today she's got me looking into Boarding Schools. :)
