When I think of you - I break into a huge smile and want to take you in my arms and squeeze you until you giggle. You are so full of joy and love and light... your happiness is contagious.
As we sit here in the most magical place on Earth, on the eve of your Fifth Birthday, I want to tell you how lucky I feel to be your mama. There's so much I love about you, but here's my favorite five...
1. I love that you tell me you "love me through the Universe" and giggle when I reply "to infinity and beyond. You have a huge heart and I am reminded daily how easily it is for you to show love to others. You always are eager to do something kind for your sister or a friend and when we pray at night, you go on and on about loving others and how much you love God and Jesus.
2. I love how you make up your own songs and entertain me with them endlessly. Your songs always are about love, or God, or your family, or your heart, or FASHION... and that just amplifies how sweet your little soul is. And if you're not singing, you are humming... which drives your sister crazy, but I absolutely adore it. I hope you never stop making music.
3. I love how incredibly smart you are! You're turning FIVE tomorrow and you're already reading and writing! You've got a dozen or more sight words memorized and can easily sort your flash cards into sentences. You can easily write your full name and all of your ABCs. You love to do addition with daddy and your PreK teachers are amazed by you!
4. You are the little cheerleader in our family. You are always encouraging and telling one of us "Good Job!" Especially your sister - you cheer her on in everything she does - whether it be learning the piano or acing a spelling test - you're always the first to congratulate her. You are a beacon of light in our family and spreading cheer is what you do best!
5. I love getting to spend every afternoon with you. Picking you up after PreK is the highlight of my day and I look forward to spending our one-on-one time together. Whether it be taxiing you around to gymnastics, or tumbling, or dance... or sitting at home in our comfy clothes cuddling on the couch, I adore the time we spend together. My heart is sad that next year you'll be off to full-day Kindergarten and my afternoons will be spent alone. How I hope to make the best of this year and our afternoons together!
Lucy Goose, you are my endless entertainment, my afternoon delight, my little ray of sunshine. I wish you the very best fifth birthday, as I know this will be a day we'll never forget!!
